About Amy

It is said that if you love horses, horses are in your blood and Amy certainly proves that out.  First Class Performance Horses is born from Amy’s strong desire to develop a business that supports the planning, care and training necessary to succeed in your equestrian journey; all while enjoying a first class experience!

Dressage and eventing were the foundation of Amy’s riding experience; teaching her about collection, conditioning and calm focus. Through the years Amy has successfully transitioned to reining and has competed at NERHA, NRHA and AQHA competitions.  She has earned several NERHA awards and has added to her earnings in NRHA Futurity, Derby and Ancillary classes.

Amy started her reining career as an assistant trainer for Rene Gagnon and for five years started colts, maintained older horses and coached green reiner's.  From that experience Amy gained a solid foundation in the fundamentals of teaching and keeping both horse and rider fully engaged in the program.

In 2007 Amy went to work for NRHA top 25 money earner and NRHA Judge Francois Gauthier.  With Francois Amy developed a strong working knowledge of developing solid training programs for two and three year olds, maintaining the finished reiner and running a business of international caliber.  Francois taught Amy to develop and trust in her own style, about showmanship and most importantly; to get a horse to want to work!

Supporting the program is husband Cam Hollowell and daughter Vera. Vera has already started her coaching career as she watches from the rail and yells encouragement.

Today Amy has a successful business with clients ranging from Green Reiner's to Non-Pros. First Class Performance Horses is continuing to grow; come be a part of "team Amy".
